I do not like them!
Since moving in to this basement apartment, we have had a variety of creepy crawly things down here. Most of them have been spiders and I just figured they would go away once we had been living here for a few weeks. Sadly, that is not the case. I'm still finding 2 or 3 a day and it creeps me out. Now, to make matters worse, BIG black wasps are now finding their way in. My landlady's response... flyswatters.

It's like you are in Brazil again!
We had spiders in our old house. They are just trying to find a cool place to hide. There is a product called HOME DEFENSE or something like that (at Home Depot) that you can spray on the outside perimeter of your home to protect against the creepy-crawlies. I've also seen a little wall plug-in that worked great to send them running in the basement apt. I lived in. You may also want to check the doors and make sure they don't have any cracks in them. You may want to apply some weather stripping to seal all the little openings. As for the wasps...Landlady needs to call an exterminator. Flyswatter.
I don't want to be in Brazil again... not unless I'm in some super swanky hotel on the beach with NO BUGS!!!!
